The origins
Fabio Motta starts vinifying his own wine at the Michele Satta winery. Bolgheri DOC Pievi, the company’s first label and the first step towards defining its production philosophy, is born.
2009
Rental of the Le Gonnare vineyard
Fabio Motta rents Le Gonnare, a vineyard destined to become central to his production.
2012
Purchase of the Le Gonnare vineyard
The purchase of Le Gonnare marks the turning point: the Bolgheri Superiore DOC which bears its name will be born in this soil.
2013
The soul of Sangiovese
Lo Scudiere Toscana IGT, a fine and floral 100% Sangiovese named in tribute to Michele Satta’s Cavaliere Toscana IGT, is born.
2016
The cellar
Completion of the new, estate-owned cellar, where Fabio Motta transfers the entire production operation. Meanwhile, Vigna del Capriolo is also rented.
2018
Le Gonnare in white
The first vintage of Vermentino Toscana IGT Le Gonnare, made from grapes grown in the estate-owned vineyard of the same name, is released. The only white wine in the range, it is unconventional, deep and rich in aromatic notes.
2020
New energy
The Agricole Gussalli Beretta group becomes majority shareholder of the Fabio Motta winery. A new phase unfolds, in the name of continuity and shared growth.
